AVSI Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1972 and specializes in development cooperation and humanitarian aid in 33 countries, including Italy. Since 1993 AVSI has been working in Palestine in the field of education and with small business and craft development projects in the West Bank territories. A commitment that over the years has developed and expanded through close collaboration with local public and private institutions. A special focus is placed on education and job placement of people with disabilities, thanks to close relationships with local partners working in the field.

 

 

 

The Land Research Center – LRC is registered a Palestinian non-governmental organization that has extensive and prolonged experience in the field of sustainable development. It has implemented dozens of development projects focused on agriculture with activities that aim to achieve sustainable development through the efficient use of natural resources related but not limited to land development, environmental protection and optimal use of water, towards achieving food security and sovereignty and social and cultural empowerment of all community members to ensure a dignified life for them. LRC works through carrying out activities to achieve sustainable development, including land development, environmental conservation and optimal use of water resources. All these activities are aimed at the realization of food security and sovereignty. The above effort is accompanied by a double intervention represented by social and cultural empowerment of all members of Palestinian society, contributing to the pursuit of a decent life. The above experiences are consistent with the LRC’s Vision which stipulates that Palestinians should have full control and authority over their lands, should have the right to free use of land for all purposes (housing and agriculture) in accordance with and in compliance with Palestinian law and full enjoyment of human rights. These experiences are part of the LRC’s Mission working for the achievement of the protection, consolidation and development of Palestinians and their lands, habitats, lifestyles and ability to counter Israeli measures.

 

Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation – BASR is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization founded in 1960 and nationally recognized for the specialized, quality, accessible and affordable medical, surgical and rehabilitation services that are offered to the Palestinian population, particularly people with disabilities from all parts of the Palestinian territories, paying special attention to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. BASR’s overall goal is to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups of the population. The community-based rehabilitation (CBR) program at BASR adopts a holistic approach and methodology in order to facilitate access of people with disabilities to their rights and build inclusive communities and environments based on a rights-based approach, a community that believes in diversity and inclusion of all individuals.

 

The Mosaic Centre is a Palestinian association that has been operating since 2002. The association is a promotion and training center and works in the field of restoration and community employment to protect local cultural resources throughout the West Bank. Registration No. QR-0244-F dated 12/22/2014. The Mosaic Center will have the role of coordinating the component of rehabilitation, promotion and enhancement of cultural heritage for the strengthening of community identity. This approach has accompanied the work of the association for many years, and has been tried many times with success (Jericho, Sebasthya and others). It is a characteristic that is very difficult to encounter, the ability to combine scientific and academic rigor with a foorte desire for involvement and active participation of the population. This long experience and philosophy of action have found correspondence and support in countless Palestinian and international actors. This willingness and ability to weave networks in pro of the Palestinian population, to involve institutional actors will be a high key element for the success of the action, its sustainability and continuity and replicability.
